Love Is Kind

God’s love is kind

God is benevolent, charitable, and considerate; a personal spirit that oozes out all around us (James 1:17-18). Look at the vastness of the sky where the sun resides and kisses the earth where the rains are formed, which provides the water to sustain its creation. Everything God created is intricately made and given its own gift of purpose so that it cultivates the cycle of life. Plants and animals are subject to instinctive predisposition, which is particularly kind because it enables humanity, which he gives reason and free-will, the ability to use the properties of the earth to discover and create in order that we may sustain ourselves and in order that we may sustain one another. I believe it gives God joy to see a company that gives away a pair of its shoes for every pair that is purchased. While I am sure there are many other examples of individuals, groups and organizations that are benevolent, charitable and considerate in the same way, there are just as many without that same concept of stewardship. God has given us charge over the earth from the very beginning (Genesis 1:26-28), but we often take advantage of this gift, and equally unfortunate, we never discover our own personal gift of the spirit (1Cor. 12:4-6), or we simply don’t share our gift with others the way God shares his gifts with us. Look around, look within; God’s love is always giving. We have only to ask ourselves how can we use what he has given us so that others may also come to know his kindness.

Genesis 1:26-28…and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

James 1:17-18 Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 18In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
