Sowing The Kingdom

Sunday-July 24, 2011

We have the ability to create our own environment by how we choose to live and the decisions we make. Solomon desired to be a ruler with an understanding mind and is therefore known for his wisdom. Even though God has given humanity the ability to reason (the power of the mind to think and conclude), we assume wisdom (the ability to apply sound judgment). Reason is often tied to emotion and therefore subject to whim. Wisdom is tied to experience and knowledge and therefore more apt to be impartial and consistent. When we are not careful our environment can become unreasonable and unstable. The seed we sow (regardless of the size) and the flour we leaven (regardless of the amount) should sustain our life and not leave us, or any of God’s creation, begging bread. We already have the power to think, let us pray daily that God’s word provides the wisdom that builds the hearts and minds in God’s kingdom, thus sustaining our own life and the life of our posterity.

1Kings 3:5-12 Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, able to discern between good and evil; for who can govern this your great people.
