Intercession Confronts Faith
When Moses interceded for the people of Israel, he confronted God’s faithfulness. With God’s presence they came out of bondage in Egypt and only with God’s presence will they go into the promised land of Canaan. It is by God’s faithfulness to the people of Israel that made them distinct from other people. So too, we are distinct by our faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Exodus 33:1-23 …And he said to him, “If your presence will not go, do not carry us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people, unless you go with us? In this way, we shall be distinct…
Psalm 119: 49-50 Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. This is my comfort in my distress, that your promise gives me life.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
