God Believes in Us

“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” Mark 10:14 

I sat down early this morning to get on the Internet and instead of the usual Apple page a video tribute to the late Steve Jobs, Co-Founder and CEO of Apple began to play. I am admittedly a late convert to Apple Computers and although there was a small learning curve in moving from PC to Mac, I couldn’t be happier. For me, I believe Apple is creative and yet simple so much so that Apple products have become primary learning tools in education for children, seniors and everyone in-between. Jobs’ concept for integrating humanity with technology is without a doubt phenomenally successful. Imagine that, integrating humanity with technology. I wonder what it would be like to integrate humanity with faith? Oh wait, I suppose that’s what religion is for. Only I never see people queued up for hours and days to get into a religious institution. While many religious institutions have creatively used technology (among other things) to increase their following, let’s face it by the time we get done with doctrines and human precepts, religion isn’t always so simple. Faith on the other hand is quite simple. Faith is believing. Fundamentally, at the heart of religion is belief. For Christians, to believe is to have hope (Hebrews 11:1). Is this not what we want for our children and our children’s children, to believe? How much more does God believe in us (Romans 15:13-21, Jeremiah 29:11) that we may believe in him? Build it and they will come – Share it and they will build. If Steve Jobs can do this with technology, How much more so for his children, will God do this with our actions of faith in him?

John 3:16  ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. 

Romans 15:13-21 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
