Light In Darkness
…let your light shine before others… Matthew 5:11-16 The only division that makes sense in this world is that between light and darkness. They can not exist in the same place. A small kindled flame may stand alone in the darkness, but the darkness will never consume it unless we choose to put it out. Our hope is like that kindled flame. If we find it dwindling, we may have to go through the darkness in order to be strengthened with other light, yet others will see and so too give glory to God. For light that is seeking light is never extinguished but endures forever.
when I took latin, greek & Hebrew ~ as student of ancient scriptures I remember the professor teaching the Psalm 23 and explaining the stanza “yea though I walk through the valley of darkness” the adverb “deepest darkness” is added… and connected it to Christ’s light and, that in Greek it meant his light could not be extinguished despite any darkness we experience because we are born with it since that is the origin of our spirit. All praise to God – Thank you. Psalm 23 is one of my favorite which I’ve also written a meditation for when I was walking through one of the darkest periods of my life. I comforted me and gave me the understanding I needed to get through a troubling time. Thank you again. Peace and Blessings to you as well.
