In Your Way Of Thinking

…and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.  Matthew 10:34-42     Life is the capacity to grow, reproduce, function and change. Yet somehow I don’t think this is quite what Jesus was asking us to lose. Marcus Aurelius wrote; “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” I believe Christ’s statement is about our perspective on how we live; how we grow, reproduce, function and change. We work hard to become who we are; to define the moment at which we can effectively express our purpose and our goals. We recognize, that what God has allowed us to do and be, is his gift to us. Yet, now that we have found our “self” life in the world, are we willing to lose our life of self in the world in order to find our life in Christ?
