The Long Way

Remember the long way…  Deuteronomy 8:1-3  I recently heard that according to some research, the first Monday of the year has been designated as the most depressing day of the year. Depression, an inability to experience feelings of hope, is a very serious illness and can’t be summed up in one day. Not even life itself can be summed up in day! It’s an ongoing process of learning, discernment and love. Everyday or moment won’t be clear and bright as the one before or after it and perhaps like the Israelites, getting to the place of promise comes by the long way.  I’ve come to understand that the long way isn’t just about time or distance, but also about all that is needed to learn in order that we be prepared for what God has promised. Prayerfully, may our hope be sustained as we inter-actively feed our spirit with the Word of God.
