We Can’t Always Handle It

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth…  John 16:1-15  Let’s face it! We don’t always want all truth. We can’t always handle it. Truth not only reveals the external it also reveals the internal: the situations surrounding us as well as our own situation; the tales of others and tales of the inner-self. In one moment of truth Peter didn’t want to hear that he would cower in his knowledge of Christ before his accusers. That one moment however, did not define the rest of Peter’s life. There is no one physical moment (and there will be many!), that will totally define ours. When the Spirit of truth comes, it uses us even when we are not quite ready, not at our expense but rather for our benefit, so that we can confront ourselves as to who we say we are, and allow the Spiritual moment of truth to guide us forward as we begin to live into who God has called us to be, for the Glory of His name.
