Life Happens
Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:25-34 Part of life is that we are encouraged to plan, yet with planning comes expectation. Expectation is a strong belief that something will happen or occur in the future. However, we can’t really know with absolute certainty that what we plan to happen will actually occur. In between the planning and the future end result, life happens one moment at a time. We make decisions based on what we expect to happen and planning is always a good thing. Yet let us first take action based on what is right and necessary for today, as we allow God’s Word to purpose our steps.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Psalm 119:133
Oh amen! We can only ever live in the moment. I understand planning for the future (gosh as a minister I am already planning out Christmas) but if we live only for tomorrow we can find at the end of our days that we have never truly lived.
Amen! Because God has been gracious enough to wake me this morning I remain hopeful of my plans today.
So true. We need to take actions by the day, as it happens, as it unfolds. So many of us plan so far ahead, retirement and distant future and all failing to live today, missing the important blessings and gifts right before our eyes, only to realize later when the moment has passed. I have many regrets of moments missed when I could have done more, give more, love more, live more. Thankfully, God gave me so many second chances to make up for it. Everything we do is on borrowed them and may we all use them wisely. God bless.
Amen! And thank you for sharing a bit of your journey. I too thank God for those second chances. Peace and continued Blessings.
