Take my yoke upon you and learn of me… Matthew 11:16-19; 25-30  Have you ever heard of a farmer who first pulls his own wagon and then decides to get a horse? That is in effect what we do. We try to pull our own wagon! In many situations it works for a while, but the field that we are trying to cultivate can be become so large that one of two things will happen. Either, we become overwhelmed and eventually give up or we get to a place where we can’t grow anymore or cover anymore territory – because we never consider yoking the wagon to the horse. This morning God’s message for us is – stop trying to pull our own wagon. Today, let us yoke our efforts to God’s truth and understanding, and allow our wagon to move according to God’s plan. If it goes in a direction we did not anticipate, then perhaps there is something God needs us to show us. Perhaps there is something we need to learn.
