My Greatest Gift

St. Francis of Assisi believed that poverty was freeing – a certain kind of liberation that allowed him to orient his life in such a way that no material thing had him. It was easy to let go of things from his life which hindered his relationship with creation; his relationship with God. Perhaps poor by the world standards, St. Francis was wealthy in far greater things. Lord grant me the wisdom to continually discern those greater gifts. Help me to orient my life that I may draw ever closer towards those gifts. May I never forget that in you is my greatest gift.
