Recognize

If God stood among us, would we recognize that God was there? Of those of us who would say “yes”, how would we attempt to describe what we see? From what image or images do we use? Thomas Merton wrote; When one is in possession of something, that something will keep all other somethings from coming in.  Gracious God, now that the stone has been rolled back may your presence whatever the image forever reveal itself, may it forever enter in, fill me and fulfill me – then fill me over and fulfill me over, again and again.
