Climb A Tree

Short in stature, Zacchaeus could not see so he climbed a tree. What if Jesus hadn’t looked up? My mother always told me that I should walk with my head up. It was about self-image and exuding self-esteem. Not to mention, walking with your head down limits one’s field of vision. It’s important to discern all the environment that surrounds us, but we have to see it in order to discern it. Gracious Lord, help keep us tall in the faith with our heads held high, that we may see all that needs to be discerned around us and serve only you. On those days when things seem crowded, grant us permission to climb a tree.
